Passionately Ministering the love and mercy of Jesus Christ by Using Athletics as a Weapon for the Gospel through Encountering, Encouraging and Empowering both the Body of Christ and the Lost for the Glory of God
Ever since I was in second grade I became obsessed with Bottle nose dolphins. I didn’t like to read and like the pictures from a book in the school Library at Knight Fundamental Academy Elementary School. I checked out the same book all year long with much hesitancy from my librarian. They were beautiful, playful and intelligent animals. In fact I started lying in church and saying that I owned two bottle nose dolphins named Speedy and Squeekers in San Diego. I told people my Aunt took care of them for me.
Also one of my dreams was to get a baseball scholarship to Stanford (like John Elway) study Marine Biology and get drafted into Pro baseball making 13.5 Million Dollars a year. Well, I did get to play pro baseball and today I got to fulfill a bucket list dream of swimming with dolphins!
In week two of my Sabbatical after studying like crazy last week, I wanted to experience Jesus through adventure. So off to Isla Mujeres an Island just off of Cancun.
Today I saw the beauty of Sea Lions, Manitees and Dolphins being ruled over in an incredible way. The relationships each trainer had with the animals were very personal. I was told today that if the animals don’t have their normal trainier they don’t perform. There is a bond beyond food.
Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
The first command is for us to rule the earth, lets do it to the glory of God and not man.
I dare you to ask Jesus to go on adventures and fulfill your God sized dreams.
