Today our Athletes in Action staff spent a day with the Lord in the Word, in prayer and in heart check as we prepare to host 170 college athletes from around the U.S. week 1 and around 50 for week 2. We met our 18 interns who will also be key leaders in making this camp successful. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to radically use us to serve, challenge and empower every athlete that comes to Ft. Collins in the next two weeks regardless of where they are in their journey with Jesus.

This last month’s theme has been being in the presence of God and others. There is awesome ministry taking place with students. I have great testimonies from them on video but i don’t want to put their business out there without their permission. Please continue to pray for the editing process of the 60 different interview videos we do have permission to share with you and thousands and millions of others. Until then please think this month about your time being with God and being with those most important to you. My trip to Colorado was a huge blessing to be with many of you who prayerfully and financially support me. Also to not worry about money or asking for money was a huge plus. Thank you for being on this team.

p.s. I met with many people and didn’t really try to get pictures so that I was not agenda ministry driven. I just wanted to be with people so please don’t be offended if you are not pictured here. 🙂

Their stories captured on video are still to come and will probably be posted on http://www.aia.com or aia.com/sportlinc and I will let you know. Be praying for the editing process and all the Athletes on these campuses to continue to allow
God-Faith & Sport to unite.

Sorry it is side ways…you will just have to turn your head or the computer. I wanted the wreath and nothing else in the shot and thought I could flip up on the computer but I was wrong and it’s funny to me to make you turn your head. lol

Family
Joshua 24:15 “…But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.”

It was great for my family to finally meet some of the Athletes in Action families that have been pouring into my life. I have known the Lester’s (Jason, Debra, Noah, Elijah and Jonah) for 3 years, I coached with Jason in the Texas Collegiate League in 06 & 07, lived with them and he helped me get on Staff. I have been living with and getting to know the Uszynski’s (Ed, Amy, Eric, Maria and Jack) a wonderful family who let’s me live life with them. Both Families have been key in my awesome experience with AIA and I was greatful that my parents got to meet them and they got to meet my parents.
Visit to California for a wedding

A recent trip to Orlando also led me to Southeastern University Baseball team in Lakeland, Florida. Southeastern has some awesome young men as I got to workout with them, speak about the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-28 and challenged them to use their Athletic influence for Jesus Christ on their campus, in the community, to their opponents and their fans. I was also able to meet with their athletic director and my old baseball coach at Nyack to establish an Athletes in Action SportLinc relationship where we empower them even more and add to what the Holy Spirit is doing in their already flourishing Athletic Department.

Scott Mottice has been Athletes in Action Staff at University of Wisconsin for 17 years and will be the new director and my boss of Sportlinc in January when he moves from Wisconsin to Ohio. Scott and I flew to Orlando for two days of stealing knowledge from Gilbert and his team who coach college and high school students all across the country with Campus Crusade for Christ. It was extremely helpful for Scott and I and our Sportlinc Team.

It was great to spend time and interact with Dan and his wife Melissa in Lakeland, Florida. They were the very first of many teammates to join our team. Without people like Dan and Melissa millions of lives wouldn’t be touched. Thank you Dan and Melissa and thank you to all of you who pray, encourage and support me financially here at Athletes in Action! I love you all!
